About Me

I’m Caitlyn, a lifelong explorer at heart, a mom of three amazing kids, and the lucky partner of a husband who supports all our dreams — from my love of travel to my passion for the arts. We live on a beautiful acreage in rural Alberta, just outside Elk Island National Park, a place we’ve been designing, building, and perfecting since 2017, the year our youngest was born. Along the way, we’ve also called Quintana Roo, Mexico, and Corpus Christi, Texas home, soaking up every bit of culture, color, and inspiration along the way.

I discovered pottery in 2023 when we moved to Corpus Christi. I was immediately captivated — not just by the tactile magic of clay, but by the incredible community around it. I fell in love with a group of creators spanning generations: seniors expressing their creativity, young artists finding their path, and everyone in between, sharing their passion and knowledge.

Since that first spark, I’ve thrown myself — literally and figuratively — into learning everything I can about ceramics. From the chemistry of clay and glazes to countless hours of practice on the wheel, I’ve immersed myself in the science, the art, and the craft. On Mother’s Day, my kids gifted me a pottery wheel, and suddenly I could create at home, sharing the experience with them and passing along the joy and curiosity that pottery inspires. Over the following days, I spent what felt like thousands of hours learning, experimenting, and creating vessels that combine function with beauty.

Pottery, for me, isn’t just about making bowls, mugs, and vessels. It’s about connection — to the earth, to the hands that shape it, to the community that supports it, and to the stories we share along the way.

Beyond the studio, I’m deeply involved in my community. I volunteer whenever and wherever I can, helping create spaces and programs that support families and children so they can grow, learn, and thrive. I’m also an active mom on the sidelines and in the arenas — cheering, coaching, and supporting my kids in their sports adventures, from competitive gymnastics to hockey. Being part of these communities keeps me inspired, grounded, and constantly reminded of the power of connection, teamwork, and encouragement — values I bring into every piece I create.
